The Role

As part of our bank staff team, you will enjoy full-day shifts (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) with flexible days to suit your availability. You will work across various age rooms in a large day nursery, supporting permanent staff with daily routines, learning activities, care, and child supervision.

Due to the setting location and flexible shift schedules, candidates with a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle (or who live within a 30-minute drive of Sawbridgeworth) are strongly encouraged to apply!

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering high standards of care and learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Assisting permanent nursery staff with daily routines, indoor/outdoor activities, and child supervision.

Requirements

In this key dual role, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations across the setting while maintaining direct oversight of the two Under 2s rooms. Working on a 50/50 split between room-based practice and leadership duties, you will support staff development and ensure exceptional care and education for all children.

This position offers excellent work-life balance, with the option to work your hours across 4 full days per week or a standard 5-day week.

Key Responsibilities

• Dual Leadership & Administration: Spend 50% of your time leading in the room and 50% managing leadership responsibilities, stepping up to manage daily operations in the Nursery Manager's absence.
